7 मई को व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने 5वीं बार रूस के राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली। पुतिन का शपथ ग्रहण समारोह मॉस्को के ग्रैंड क्रेमलिन पैलेस में हुआ। रूस में 15-17 मार्च को हुए चुनाव में पुतिन को 88% वोट मिले थे। जबकि, अपोजिशन पार्टी के निकोले खारितोनोव को सिर्फ 4% वोट ही मिले थे।
पुतिन ने 2000 में पहली बार राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली थी, जिसके बाद से 2004, 2012 और 2018 में भी वो राष्ट्रपति बन चुके हैं। शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में रूस की फेडरेल काउंसिल के सदस्य (सीनेट के सांसद), स्टेट डूमा के सदस्य (निचले सदन के सांसद), हाईकोर्ट के जज, अलग-अलग देशों के राजदूत और डिप्लोमैटिक कॉर्प्स शामिल हुए।
ग्रैंड क्रेमलिन पैलेस में रूस के जार परिवार के 3 राजाओं (एलेक्जेंडर 2, एलेक्जेंडर 3 और निकोलस 2) की ताजपोशी हुई थी। शपथ समारोह के बाद रूस के ऑर्थोडॉक्स चर्च के प्रमुख पेट्रिआर्क ने राष्ट्रपति पुतिन के साथ कैथेड्रल चर्च में प्रार्थना की। सेरेमनी की शुरुआत में रूस के प्रेसिडेंशियल बैंड ने वही धुन बजाई, जो 1883 में एलेक्जेंडर 3 की ताजपोशी के वक्त बजाई गई थी। फोर्ब्स के मुताबिक, 2013 से लेकर 2016 तक लगातार 4 बार व्लादिमीर पुतिन को दुनिया का सबसे ताकतवर शख्स घोषित किया गया था।
On May 7, Vladimir Putin took oath as President of Russia for the fifth time. Putin's swearing-in ceremony took place at the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Putin got 88% of the votes in the elections held in Russia on March 15-17. Whereas, Nikolay Kharitonov of the opposition party got only 4% votes. Putin took the oath of office for the first time in 2000, after which he has also become the President in 2004, 2012 and 2018. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by members of the Federal Council of Russia (MPs of the Senate), members of the State Duma (MPs of the Lower House), High Court judges, ambassadors and diplomatic corps of different countries. The crowning of three kings of the Tsarist family of Russia (Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II) took place in the Grand Kremlin Palace. After the swearing-in ceremony, the Patriarch, head of the Russian Orthodox Church, prayed with President Putin in the cathedral church. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Presidential Band of Russia played the same tune which was played at the coronation of Alexander III in 1883. According to Forbes, Vladimir Putin was declared the most powerful person in the world four consecutive times from 2013 to 2016.
