The central government is emphasizing on digital registration to facilitate farmers. Through this registration, farmers will be given a number like Aadhaar card. To empower the farmers, digital registration will start on the lines of Aadhaar card. The government will issue guidelines soon and it will be implemented from October. The aim of digital registration is to design a farmer-centric digital public infrastructure (DPI) to organize services and schemes to farmers. 5 crore farmers will be registered by March next year. A new ID will be generated for farmers with special identity and farmers will get the benefit of various agricultural schemes including Minimum Support Price (MSP), Credit Card Program directly. Apart from this, the data collected will help the Center in policy planning and targeted extension services. He said that till now farmers have to go through a process to avail the benefits of any scheme. Many types of problems have to be faced in this.
