Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA), Government of India launched the consultative document titled “India Zero Emission Trucking (ZET) Policy Consultation” on 21st August at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. In his inaugural address at the event, PSA Prof. Sood emphasized the importance of Zero Emission Trucks (ZET) for both decarbonization and energy security. Technical expertise and systematic policy interventions are needed to create an enabling techno-socio-economic ecosystem in India for the inclusion and widespread adoption of ZET. The way forward for a complete transition to ZET to reach 100% ZET sales penetration by 2050, which is essential to achieve India’s ambitious Net Zero 2070 goal, was discussed.
