After the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles, now the central government has launched the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM e-Drive) scheme. The scheme replaces the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles scheme, which ended in March, as well as the three-month Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme, which ended on September 30.

The PM e-Drive scheme aims to provide green solutions and promote electric mobility and set up Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EVPCS). The new scheme has an outlay of Rs 10,900 crore for a period of two years and is valid till March 31, 2026.
