India will host the Men's Junior Hockey World Cup next year. The Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) made this announcement.
This competition will be played in December. This will be the first time in the competition that 24 teams will participate in it.
Announcing this, FIH President Tayyab Ikram said, "I am very happy that the number of teams participating in the FIH Hockey Junior World Cup has increased and I am looking forward to seeing these 24 young teams playing next year. These 24 teams will represent the future of our sport.''
The last Junior World Cup was played in Kuala Lumpur in 2023 in which Germany won the title by defeating France 2-1 in the final. Spain finished third and India fourth.
India has previously hosted the tournament three times in 2013 (New Delhi), 2016 (Lucknow) and 2021 (Bhubaneswar). India also became the champion in 2016.
Ikram said, "I thank Hockey India for their commitment to organize another great competition."
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey said, "Getting the hosting of this prestigious tournament shows India's growing importance in international hockey and our dedication to develop the game for future generations."
Hockey India Secretary General Bholanath Singh called it an important step for Indian hockey.
He said, "We thank FIH for keeping faith in us. This competition will be important to take hockey to new heights. This will inspire the new generation of players. We are committed to make it a memorable tournament."

The tournament will be played in December 2025.
