Wimbledon got a new women's singles champion in the form of Czech Republic's Barbora Krejcikova. Barbora Krejcikova won her first Wimbledon title by defeating Italy's Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the final match. Barbora Krejcikova is the 32nd ranked player in the world and she faced seventh ranked player Jasmine Paolini.
Barbora Krejcikova performed brilliantly in the Wimbledon women's final played at the All England Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club in London. Krejcikova made a strong start in the first set and won easily, but her Italian opponent Jasmine Paolini made a great comeback in the second set and won and took the match to the deciding set. However, Krejcikova performed brilliantly in the deciding set and won 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to win the Wimbledon title.
