Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia along with Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar inaugurated the Network Operations Centre at the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) Delhi Campus.
The Centre is an indigenously developed security infrastructure for identifying and monitoring cyber threats in telecom networks in the country. Various malicious activities like malware, ransomware, DoS, DDoS, DNS amplification, malicious domain communication etc. can now be proactively identified.
The Communications Minister also made a pilot 5G call in the live network of BSNL. This 5G call was made using indigenously developed 5G Radio and 5G Core (NSA).
He also visited the C-DOT Centre of Innovation and ITU Area Office located at C-DOT Campus. During the visit, he also interacted with entrepreneurs supported by C-DOT.
The Ministers reviewed other ongoing indigenous technology programmes of C-DOT, including 4G/5G, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Cyber Security Solutions, Disaster Management Cell Broadcast Solutions, Optical and Advanced Security Projects. Shri Scindia interacted with young engineers and researchers involved in the design and development of telecom technologies. C-DOT engineers demonstrated various innovative telecom technologies before the Minister in several technology laboratories.
Shri Scindia and Dr. Shekhar appreciated the efforts of C-DOT teams in creating several indigenous telecom products and solutions, including a fully developed end-to-end 4G/5G system using indigenous technology. They termed this achievement as a concrete step towards achieving the Government's vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and assured support and encouragement to research and innovation.
