The bilateral deadlock between India and China for the last four and a half years has ended with the agreement to restore the 2020 patrolling system on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and withdraw both the armies. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in an NDTV program on Monday that Indian and Chinese soldiers will be able to resume patrolling in the same way as they used to before the confrontation started in the border Galwan Valley in May 2020. Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that India and China have agreed on a patrolling system on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Himalayas and this could lead to the withdrawal of troops and resolution of tension. This success was achieved before Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Russia to attend the BRICS summit.
