Along with this, the country also got 4 gold medals in the individual category. 2-2 players secured the first position in both men's and women's categories. 5-5 players represented India in both categories. Arjun had confirmed India's gold by winning the last match in the 10th round of the open category. Divya Deshmukh won the 10th and 11th rounds of the women's category. In the 11th round of the Chess Olympiad, the women's team India defeated Azerbaijan 3.5-0.5. In the open category, India had confirmed the first position after the 10th round, but the women's team's gold was confirmed after the 11th round. Because the second-ranked Kazakhstan team played a 2-2 draw against the USA. Due to this, India remained first with 19 points and Kazakhstan remained second with 18 points. The Chess Olympiad was held in Budapest, Hungary from 10 September.
