To empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the central government has decided to bring five lakh MSMEs on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This initiative has been named 'MSME Team'. Under this, financial assistance will be given to bring five lakh MSMEs on ONDC. Apart from this, help will also be given in account management, logistics, packaging and cataloging. Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said that half the benefit under this scheme will go to women-led MSMEs. MSMEs have a big role in building a self-reliant and developed India. He further said that in the rapidly changing environment, MSMEs should adopt digital and technology solutions. Another initiative 'Yashaswini' has also been launched by the ministry. Its objective is to formalize women-owned informal micro enterprises and provide them capacity building, training, support and guidance. Under this, a whole series of campaigns will be launched by the MSME Ministry in the current financial year. Its focus will be on tier 2 and tier 3 cities. The MSME Minister emphasized that as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is a need to deepen and broaden the effort through an inclusive and focused approach, especially in rural areas and hinterlands.
