₹3.90 Crore Aid Released for Divyang (Disabled) Students in Madhya Pradesh
The School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh has released financial assistance of ₹3.90 crore under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan for disabled (Divyang) students studying in government schools across the state.
Under the Samajsevi Yojana, this amount covers allowances such as transport, escort, reader (for visually impaired), and Braille stationery. The funds were directly transferred to students’ bank accounts using the Shiksha Portal 2.0.
Additionally, Divyang girl students received an incentive stipend of ₹2,000 annually under the "Girls Stipend" initiative to encourage continued education. The scheme aims to ensure ease of education and support self-reliance among Divyang students.
Eligibility requires a minimum disability of 40%, certified by a medical board. The annual benefits include:
- Transport Allowance: ₹3,000
- Escort Allowance: ₹3,000
- Reader Allowance for Visually Impaired: ₹2,500
- Braille Stationery Material: ₹2,000
- Girls Stipend (Divyang Girls): ₹2,000
In 2025, over 7,983 Divyang students from classes 9 to 12 received aid, and around 2,000 more students will receive benefits soon. The scheme promotes inclusive and holistic education by integrating disabled students into the mainstream education system.
