देश में तेंदुओं की सर्वाधिक संख्या 3907 मध्यप्रदेश में है। वर्ष 2018 में 3421 थी। इसके बाद महाराष्ट्र में 1985, कर्नाटक में 1,879 और तमिलनाडु में 1,070 हैं। वन मंत्री श्री नागर सिंह चौहान ने वन्य जीव संरक्षण और प्रबंधन से जुड़े वन विभाग के अमले को बधाई दी है।
टाइगर रिजर्व या सबसे अधिक तेंदुए की आबादी वाले स्थल- आंध्रप्रदेश के श्रीशैलम में नागार्जुन सागर और इसके बाद मध्यप्रदेश में पन्ना और सतपुड़ा हैं। यह तथ्य आज नई दिल्ली में भारत में तेंदुओं की स्थिति पर जारी रिपोर्ट में रेखांकित हुआ है। केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री श्री भूपेन्द्र यादव ने रिपोर्ट जारी की। वन राज्य मंत्री श्री दिलीप अहिरवार ने कहा कि वन्य जीव हमारे जंगल की शान है।
Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of leopards in the country, 3907. In the year 2018 it was 3421. This is followed by 1985 in Maharashtra, 1,879 in Karnataka and 1,070 in Tamil Nadu. Tiger reserves or places with the highest leopard population are NagarjunaSagar in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, followed by Panna and Satpura in Madhya Pradesh. This fact has been underlined in the report released today in New Delhi on the status of leopards in India. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Bhupendra Yadav released the report. Minister of State for Forests Shri DilipAhirwar said that wildlife is the pride of our forests.
