Adani Group to Set Up 800 MW Thermal Power Plant in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh

Adani Power will establish an 800 MW greenfield thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh, having received the Letter of Award (LoA) for the project. According to Mr. S.B. Khayalia, CEO of Adani Power, the country’s growing economic development is driving an increasing demand for electricity, especially base load power. To meet this rising demand, strong investment in energy infrastructure is necessary.

The company has secured the LoA for an 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. The project involves design, construction, financing, ownership, and operation with an estimated investment of approximately ₹10,500 crores.

The new power plant is expected to become operational within 54 months and will help meet the growing electricity demand of the state.

Adani Power Limited received the LoA from Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for electricity supply from this upcoming 800 MW thermal power plant. The plant will support the increasing electricity requirements due to rapid industrialization and urbanization in the state.

Adani Power emerged as one of the lowest bidders in a highly competitive bidding process, with a final tariff of ₹5.838 per kilowatt-hour.
