AI Chatbot Now Available on Sugamya Bharat App for Divyang Users
On June 27, the 'Sugamya Bharat' app, developed to support persons with disabilities (Divyang), was upgraded to make it more user-friendly. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced that the new version now includes an AI-powered chatbot for better user interaction.
According to the Ministry, other features of the updated app include a more intuitive and accessible user interface, along with enhanced access to government schemes and valuable resources for persons with disabilities.
The app was initially launched in 2021 by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It serves as a platform for reporting accessibility-related issues in public infrastructure, transport, and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) systems.
Since its launch, the app has received a total of 2,705 complaints, out of which 1,897 have been successfully resolved, the Ministry stated.
