AI to be Included in Classes 8 to 12 Curriculum: Chief Minister

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has issued an important directive to modernize school education in the state. Under this initiative, a comprehensive action plan will be prepared to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based skills in the curriculum for students from Classes 8 to 12.

The primary objective of this initiative is to align school education with future technological needs and empower students with advanced technical skills. The government aims to make students future-ready by integrating AI education into mainstream schooling.

Important Instructions by the Chief Minister

  • Encourage social organizations and institutions to establish private schools.
  • Include the biography of Emperor Vikramaditya in the school curriculum.
  • Prepare a dedicated book on the life of Guru Sandipani.
  • Complete the recruitment process of guest teachers before July 1.
  • Ensure all school preparations are completed before the academic session begins.
  • Immediately repair partially damaged school buildings across the state.
  • Construct boundary walls in all schools.

The Chief Minister issued these directions during a review meeting of the School Education Department held at the ministry on May 21. School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh was also present during the meeting.

Preparations Before the Academic Session

The Chief Minister instructed officials to complete all necessary arrangements before the new academic session beginning on June 16. He also suggested organizing alumni conferences in schools so that former students emotionally connected to their schools could contribute toward their development and expansion.

It was noted that 26 schools in the state achieved a 100% examination result. The Chief Minister further instructed that schools achieving more than 90% or 95% results should also be honored.

New “Shiksha Ghar Yojana” Approved

The Chief Minister gave in-principle approval to a new scheme called the “Shiksha Ghar Yojana.” Under this scheme, students who could not complete their schooling due to various reasons will get an opportunity to pass High School and Higher Secondary examinations.

The Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board will implement this scheme.

Focus on Implementation of Announcements

Dr. Mohan Yadav directed officials to ensure timely implementation of all announcements made by him from time to time. He emphasized that no announcement older than one year should remain pending.

For the first time in the history of the state, the School Education Department and the Women and Child Development Department will work together to improve the quality of education for children.

Upgrade of High Schools and Vocational Training

The Chief Minister instructed officials to identify high schools that do not have nearby higher secondary schools and submit proposals to upgrade them into higher secondary schools.

He also emphasized the importance of vocational training in schools. Regional self-help groups may also be connected with schools and students for skill development initiatives.

The government will also track students graduating from government schools after Class 12 to monitor whether they pursue higher education, employment, agriculture, family businesses, or skill training.

New Sanskrit Schools

During the meeting, the Secretary of School Education informed that new Sanskrit schools have been started in Bhainswa Mata (Rajgarh district) and Gadarwara (Narsinghpur district).
