Airspace Closed for Pakistani Aircraft Until October 24
India has extended the closure of its airspace to Pakistani military and civilian aircraft until October 24, 2025. Similarly, Pakistan has also closed its airspace to Indian aircraft until the same date.
Since April, both countries have kept their airspaces closed to each other's aircraft following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Separate Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) have been issued by India and Pakistan to extend this closure.
According to the NOTAM issued on September 23, Indian airspace will not be available to aircraft registered in Pakistan or operated, owned, or leased by Pakistani aviation companies, including military flights. The airspace closure remains in effect until 23:59 on October 23, which corresponds to 05:30 IST on October 24.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 23, which killed 26 people, India had closed its airspace to Pakistan Airlines and other Pakistani operators from April 30. This ban, which includes military flights, has been extended multiple times since then.
