Average Assets of 102 Re-elected MPs Increased by 110% Since 2014: ADR Report

According to a special analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the average assets of 102 Members of Parliament (MPs) who were re-elected between 2014 and 2024 increased by ₹17.36 crore over a period of ten years. During this period, their average wealth rose by 110%.

ADR, along with the National Election Watch, analyzed the election affidavits of 102 out of 103 MPs who were re-elected in the 2014, 2019, and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The affidavit of BJP MP Devendra Singh alias Bhole Singh from Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh, for the 2019 Lok Sabha election was not available and hence was excluded from the analysis.

As per the report, the average assets of these 102 MPs stood at ₹15.76 crore in 2014. This increased to ₹24.21 crore in 2019, and further rose to ₹33.13 crore in 2024.

Top 10 Re-elected MPs with Highest Increase in Assets

The analysis shows that BJP MP Shrimant Chhatrapati Udayanraje Pratapsinh Maharaj Bhonsle from the Satara constituency in Maharashtra recorded the highest increase in assets. His wealth increased by ₹162.51 crore since 2014, rising from ₹60.60 crore in 2014 to ₹223.12 crore in 2024.

Similarly, BJP MP Poonamben Hematbhai Maadam from the Jamnagar constituency in Gujarat saw an increase of ₹130.26 crore in her assets. She declared assets worth ₹17.43 crore in 2014, which grew to ₹147.70 crore in 2024.

The third highest increase was recorded by YSRCP MP P. V. Midhun Reddy from the Rajampet constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Over ten years, his assets increased by ₹124.25 crore, rising from ₹22.59 crore in 2014 to ₹146.85 crore in 2024.
