12-year-old Miss Preeti Parmar of Sehore district has succeeded in climbing Europe's highest mountain Elbrus. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated Miss Preeti for this success. Miss Preeti started climbing from the base camp at 1:00 am on 16 August and reached the summit within 9 hours. Miss Preeti was accompanied by her brother Mr. Chetan Parmar who also conquered this mountain in his first attempt.
Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha hoisted the tricolor on Mount Kosciusko, the highest mountain in the Australian continent. Mr. Kushwaha reached there first on 15 August and hoisted the national flag under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign and made the country and the state proud by singing the national anthem. Mr. Kushwaha is an employee of the State Water Sports Academy of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. Mr. Kushwaha is also the first mountaineer from Madhya Pradesh to conquer Mount Everest. The Madhya Pradesh government has honored Mr. Kushwaha with the Vikram Award in adventure sports in the year 2023 and appointed him to the post of Assistant Grade-3 in the Energy Department Government Service.
