Bhopal Metro Launch: A Historic Day for Madhya Pradesh
December 20th, Saturday, is a historic day for Madhya Pradesh. The long-awaited dream of the city residents is now going to come true. At 4 PM today, Union Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Manohar Lal Khattar, along with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, will flag off the Bhopal Metro. There is a possibility of a virtual message from PM Modi as he will be on a tour of Assam and West Bengal. Before this, a regional meeting of urban development ministers from the northern and central states will be held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center in the capital. The meeting will be attended by ministers and officials from four states, including Chhattisgarh's Deputy CM Arun Saw.
The Bhopal Metro will be flagged off at 4 PM from the Kushabhau International Convention Center by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Afterward, the metro train will be flagged off from the Subhash Nagar Metro Station. Following this, Khattar and CM Yadav will board the metro and travel from Subhash Nagar to the AIIMS hospital station. Madhya Pradesh's Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will also be present during the event. Once they reach the AIIMS Metro Station, the Union Minister and CM Yadav will interact with the media and answer questions regarding Bhopal Metro.
Before the launch of Bhopal Metro, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav remarked, "Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to operate two metros in one year." CM Dr. Mohan Yadav made this statement to the media at Indore Airport. He further added, "The last week of December 2025 will also be historic for Madhya Pradesh."
