Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Indian culture has always placed the highest respect on mothers and sisters. He emphasized that the government is committed to securing reservation for women in State Assemblies and Parliament.
He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently appealed for inclusive development, but some political parties have not supported giving women their rightful representation.
Criticism of Opposition on Women’s Rights
The Chief Minister pointed out that certain political groups had previously opposed Supreme Court orders related to maintenance allowances for women. He urged women to remember such actions and respond when given the opportunity.
Ladli Behna Yojana Benefits
The state government is supporting women through the Ladli Behna Yojana, providing ₹1,500 per month to beneficiaries as a step toward financial independence.
Women in Leadership Roles
- 17 districts in Madhya Pradesh have women collectors
- More than 10 districts have women Superintendents of Police (SPs)
- In Sagar district, both the Member of Parliament and Mayor are women
