Carlos Alcaraz Completes Career Grand Slam in Melbourne

Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz created history on February 1, 2026, at Melbourne Park. In a thrilling Australian Open final, Alcaraz defeated tennis legend Novak Djokovic in a hard-fought four-set match, winning 2–6, 6–2, 6–3, 7–5 to claim his first Australian Open title.

With this victory, the 22-year-old Alcaraz became the youngest player in history to complete a Career Grand Slam, an extraordinary milestone in professional tennis.

Career Grand Slam Record

Alcaraz has now become only the ninth male player in tennis history to win all four Grand Slam titles — Wimbledon, French Open, US Open, and Australian Open.

He now holds a total of seven major titles, including two titles each at Wimbledon, the French Open, and the US Open, along with his maiden Australian Open crown.

This landmark victory signals the official beginning of a new era in men’s tennis, with Carlos Alcaraz firmly established as the world No. 1 and Jannik Sinner as world No. 2, dominating the global tennis landscape.
