CBSE CTET September 2026 Application Process Started
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026.
The examination will be conducted on September 6, 2026 (Sunday) across 192 cities in 27 languages across India.
Candidates can apply online through the official website: ctet.nic.in.
The last date to submit the application fee is June 10, 2026.
This time, candidates will not be able to choose their exam city while filling out the application form.
CTET Exam Structure
CTET consists of two papers:
- Paper 1: For candidates aiming to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Level).
- Paper 2: For candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8.
Eligibility for Paper 1 includes 12th pass with qualifications such as D.El.Ed, BTC, JBT, B.El.Ed, or equivalent diploma in elementary education.
Eligibility for Paper 2 includes graduation with B.Ed, D.El.Ed, Special Education B.Ed, or equivalent qualification.
There is no upper age limit for appearing in the CTET exam.
Exam Pattern
Paper 1 includes:
- Child Development and Pedagogy
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
- Two Languages
Paper 2 includes:
- Child Development and Pedagogy
- Language I & II
- Mathematics and Science
- Social Studies/Social Science
Preparation Tips
- Study NCERT books thoroughly for Environmental Studies.
- Use Class 8–10 Science textbooks for preparation.
- Focus on History, Geography, and Political Science for Social Science.
- Understand Child Development theories and pedagogy concepts.
- Practice Mathematics topics like Percentage, Interest, Simplification, and Number System regularly.
Candidates must upload their photograph and signature while filling out the online application form.
