China Successfully Tests World’s Heaviest Cargo Drone CY-8
Amid border tensions with India, China has successfully tested the world’s heaviest cargo drone.
The drone is named Changying-8 (CY-8).
It has been developed by Chinese defence company China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO).
The CY-8 is capable of short take-off and landing operations and can operate in high-altitude plateau regions such as Tibet as well as island regions in the South and East China Seas.
Experts believe that the deployment of this drone could raise security concerns for India along the border region.
