CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates Advanced Planetarium in Dongla
On June 21, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated a state-of-the-art digital planetarium in the village of Dongla. The event also marked the launch of a national workshop on "Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition," which was attended by renowned scientists and educators from across the country.
The planetarium has been established by Acharya Varahamihira Trust with financial support from the Awada Foundation and technical support from Deep Sky Planetarium, Kolkata. It features an advanced 8-meter diameter FRP dome equipped with an e-vision 4K digital projector and a digital surround sound system.
This air-conditioned spherical planetarium can accommodate up to 55 people at a time, offering an immersive and thrilling astronomical experience. The total cost of the project is approximately ₹1.6 crore.
