Chief Minister Yadav on Development and Farmer Welfare
Chief Minister Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is committed to the development of the region. He mentioned that Bhilat Dev is the revered deity of the Nimar-Malwa region, and the cabinet meeting will begin after offering prayers to the deity. All decisions taken in the cabinet will be in the interest of the people and farmers of the state.
He further said that farmers in the Nimar region are becoming prosperous and progressive through irrigation using the waters of the Narmada River. Today, farmers in the region are cultivating multiple crops, including agriculture and horticulture, leading to economic growth.
The water of the Narmada River is being supplied for irrigation through micro-irrigation projects, benefiting farmers in Barwani district and the entire Nimar region.
He emphasized that the progress of farmers is directly linked to the progress of the state. The government has declared the year 2026 as the “Farmer Welfare Year” to ensure greater prosperity and well-being of farmers.
The Chief Minister also appealed to farmers to adopt natural farming instead of chemical farming in order to maintain soil fertility. He noted that while natural farming may result in lower production initially, it improves soil health, which eventually leads to increased productivity over time.
