DAVV Indore: Distance Learning Admissions Now Once a Year
The University Grants Commission (UGC) had set a rule to allow two admission cycles per year for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs. However, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV)'s Online and Distance Education Center has decided to deviate from this rule. From now on, students can enroll only once a year, in the July session.
Main Reason for the Change
- Low student enrollment in the January session.
- Seats in online and distance learning MBA and MCA programs often remain unfilled.
- Job-seeking students prefer the July session as it allows study alongside work.
Programs and Seats
- MBA: 1,000 seats
- MCA: 350 seats
- Fee: ₹19,800
- Total students enrolled annually: around 400
History and Administration
Previously, a three-year MBA program was offered, but from 2019, UGC introduced a two-year online and distance learning option. In 2020, the Directorate of Distance Education was shifted to IET, after which the Online and Distance Learning Center was established.
Summary
DAVV will now admit students to online and distance learning programs only in the July session to optimize resources and ensure better student participation.
