Delhi Schools Introduce ‘Water Bell’ to Keep Students Hydrated During Heatwave
Amid the severe heatwave and extreme temperatures in Delhi, the Delhi Government has issued a new advisory for both government and private schools.
One of the key measures includes introducing a 'Water Bell' system in schools. Under this system, a bell will ring every 45 to 60 minutes to remind students to drink water regularly and stay hydrated.
Schools have also been instructed to implement a buddy system, where two students are paired together to look after each other's health and immediately inform teachers in case of any issues.
According to the circular issued on 21 April, schools are advised to keep outdoor assemblies short. If possible, assemblies should be conducted indoors or in shaded areas.
Additionally, outdoor activities have been restricted during the heatwave to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
