Donald Trump Sworn In as 47th President of the United States
Donald Trump has become the 47th President of the United States. He took the oath of office at 10:30 PM IST on Monday night at the U.S. Capitol Hill. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts administered the oath. This is Trump's second term, having served as the 45th President from 2017 to 2021.
During the oath-taking ceremony, his wife, Melania, stood holding the Bible. The Capitol Rotunda echoed with applause for some time after the oath. In his speech, Trump stated that God saved him to make America great again.

As soon as Trump took office, he announced several major policy changes in both domestic and foreign matters. In his victory speech, he spoke about banning illegal immigrants from entering the country and ending the policy of releasing illegal immigrants at the border. Immediately after taking the oath, Trump declared a policy recognizing only two genders. He said he would sign an executive order stating that the U.S. federal government will recognize only two genders: male and female.
After the inauguration, Donald Trump announced plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in the coming days.
