Election Commission Extends SIR Deadline in 5 States
The Election Commission has extended the deadline for Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which involves voter verification, in five states and one Union Territory (UT). As per the new schedule, residents of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Andaman and Nicobar can fill out forms until December 18. In Uttar Pradesh, the deadline has been extended to December 26, while Gujarat and Tamil Nadu voters will have until December 14 to complete the forms.
Previously, the last date to fill the forms was set for December 11. This extension will allow more time for citizens to register or update their voter information in these states and UTs ahead of upcoming elections.
