Final Day for Name Addition, Deletion, and Correction Under SIR
Under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, claims and objections have been accepted from 23 December to 22 January. Today marks the last day for submitting valid claims and objections.
Among all claims, the highest number relates to addition of new voter names. Out of nearly 7,000 applications, the process for adding 3,200 names has already been completed.
No-Mapping Voters Status
During the SIR process, a total of 13,729 voters were identified as “No Mapping” voters in the district. However, only 238 cases have been resolved so far. Many no-mapping voters have not appeared for hearings despite receiving notices.
All 13,729 no-mapping voters were issued notices by the District Election Office to present their case. Out of these, only 238 voters appeared before the competent authority (Assistant Returning Officer – ARO) and their names are being included in the new voter list.
In addition, 5 no-mapping voters were declared invalid due to incomplete documents. Most of these cases involve voters who migrated from other states, districts, or assembly constituencies and whose names were not present in the 2003 voter list of the district.
Claims and Objections Valid Only Till January 22
Hearings under the SIR claims and objections process are being conducted at all Tehsil and Naib Tehsil courts across the district. For name addition or correction, voters are required to coordinate with their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
On Monday, hearings were held at the Khandwa Tehsil Court by a double bench comprising Tehsildar Mahesh Solanki and Naib Tehsildar Mahadev Rathore. Applicants with incomplete documents were counseled and advised to submit complete documents within the stipulated time.
A large number of voters were seen applying for name addition, deletion, and correction. It has been clarified that no claims or objections will be accepted after January 22. Any new additions or corrections will be processed separately only after the final publication of the voter list.
