On 22 July, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey in Parliament. The survey mentions the achievements of the government as well as the challenges in the future. The Economic Survey for the financial year 2023-2024 presented in Parliament states that despite all the geopolitical challenges, the economy maintained its momentum in 2023, due to which its condition remains good. According to the Economic Survey, India's real GDP growth in the financial year 2024 was 8.2 percent, which was more than eight percent in three out of four quarters of the financial year 2024. GDP growth is expected to be 6.5 to seven percent in this financial year.
In the last decade, the percentage of skilled youth has increased from about 34 percent to 51.3 percent. According to the Economic Survey, to provide employment to the increasing human resources in the country, 78.5 lakh jobs need to be created annually in the non-agricultural sector by 2030.
