On 17 July, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar along with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth inaugurated India's first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra, a testimony to the "close cooperation between our countries, especially in the crucial area of health". Jan AushadhiKendras have been set up to make affordable generic medicines available to all. Jaishankar said in a post on X, "I am very happy to inaugurate the first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Mauritius along with Prime Minister Kumar Jugnauth. This medicine centre is a fulfilment of the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi." He added, "The India-Mauritius Health Partnership Project will supply cost-effective, made-in-India medicines to enhance public healthcare and enhance well-being."
