- India has received 16 Airbus C-295MW transport aircraft from Spain, two months ahead of schedule. These aircraft can carry 5 to 10 tons of weight and can fly for 11 hours, replacing the older Avro planes.
- The Reserve Bank of India has approved the merger of New India Co-operative Bank with Saraswat Bank, effective from August 4. Saraswat Bank is the largest urban co-operative bank in the country.
- India Post Payments Bank has introduced Aadhaar-based face authentication for banking transactions. Now, customers can perform transactions using only their facial recognition, without the need for fingerprints or OTPs.
- The government of Sikkim has introduced a new scheme called Sabbatical Leave, which allows government employees to take some time off for skill development.
- Western Railway has resumed heritage train services on the 95 km long Patalpani-Kalakund Heritage Line in Madhya Pradesh. This initiative aims to preserve the state's historical heritage.
- India has become the world's second-largest producer of fish after China. Fish production in India has increased from 9.57 million tons in 2013-14 to 18.4 million tons in 2023-24. Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Karnataka are the leading states in fish production. India holds an 8% share in global fish production.
