Gurindervir Singh Sets New National Record in 100m Sprint
On May 31, young sprinter Gurindervir Singh from Jalandhar, Punjab, captured nationwide attention with his exceptional speed and performance on the track.
Competing in the National Federation Cup Athletics Championships held in Ranchi, Gurindervir Singh completed the 100-meter sprint in just 10.09 seconds, setting a new national record in the event.
Following this historic achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Gurindervir Singh during his monthly radio program “Mann Ki Baat” and directly interacted with him, sharing his inspiring journey of struggle and success with the nation.
The Prime Minister highlighted that several national records were broken during the competition in Ranchi, and the men’s 100m event saw three record-breaking performances within just two days, making it a major talking point across the country.
Due to this outstanding performance, Gurindervir Singh along with Animesh Kujur was invited to the “Mann Ki Baat” program, bringing national recognition to their achievements in athletics.
