Hajj 2025: Saudi Arabia Bans Children Under 12 from Pilgrimage

New Regulations for Hajj 2025

In a significant move, Saudi Arabia has announced that children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage for the year 2025. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that this decision aims to protect children from potential risks associated with severe overcrowding during the pilgrimage.

Prioritization of First-Time Pilgrims

To ensure that more Muslims have the opportunity to undertake this religious obligation at least once in their lives, priority for the 2025 Hajj will be given to first-time pilgrims. This measure is part of broader efforts to manage the large crowds and ensure a safer and more seamless Hajj experience.

Changes in Visa Regulations

Starting February 1, 2025, Saudi Arabia will issue only single-entry visas for pilgrims from 14 countries, including India. This change aims to prevent unauthorized participation in Hajj and to manage the number of pilgrims more effectively. The new visa policy will help regulate the number of visitors and enhance the overall pilgrimage experience.
