Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat while announcing on August 8, 2024 said that the third “Har Ghar Tiranga” (HGT) campaign will be conducted from 9th to 15th August, 2024 as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the initiative aims to inculcate a sense of patriotism and national pride among citizens by encouraging every Indian to hoist the national flag, the Tricolour. Shri Shekhawat urged citizens to hoist the Tricolour in their homes and click a selfie with the flag and upload it on harghartiranga.com.
All States and Union Territories are actively participating in the celebrations ensuring the success of the campaign. Key industry partners- e-commerce platforms, Railways, Civil Aviation sector, Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are also playing an active role in dissemination of information and promotion of the campaign. Self Help Groups across the country are actively contributing in the production and availability of flags on a large scale. This collaborative effort is turning the vision of respecting the National Flag into reality and making it another important celebration of the people of India, by the people of India. Various outreach activities are being organized across the country under Har Ghar Tiranga Utsav, which include- • Tiranga Run: Will be organized in various cities across the country to promote patriotism. • Tiranga Music Programme: Musical programme based on patriotic songs to celebrate our national heritage. • Street Play: Performed in local communities to spread the message of unity and patriotism. • Painting Competition: To engage youth and children in artistic expression of their love for the nation. • Exhibition on Evolution of Tricolour: Showcasing the history and significance of the National Flag. • Flash Mob: Passionate display of national pride at public places.
