If you have completed your 12th, you can apply for jobs in Indian Railways. Indian Railways offers several assistant positions, which are responsible for various tasks in different railway departments. These positions are referred to as Railway Group D staff. Some of these positions include Track Maintainer, Points Man, Workshop Mechanical Assistant, Electrical Loco Shed Assistant, Diesel Loco Shed Assistant, Track Distribution Assistant, etc. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts an entrance exam for the recruitment of Railway Group D staff. Any student who has passed the matriculation exam can appear for this exam. The age limit for the exam is between 18 and 33 years.
The exam consists of three phases: Computer-Based Test (CBT), Medical Efficiency Test, and Medical & Document Verification. The selection is based on performance in these three stages. In the CBT, you have to solve a total of 100 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, covering topics like General Science, General Reasoning, Mathematics, and Current Affairs.
