IIT Madras Launches Its First International Research Center

India’s technological capabilities have now reached one of the world’s largest innovation hubs. IIT Madras has opened its first global research center in the United States.

Established in Menlo Park, California, the center will serve as a launchpad for Indian deep-tech startups. A key highlight is its close proximity to Silicon Valley, home to some of the world’s leading technology companies and investors.

Being developed with an investment of nearly 7.5 million dollars, the center will connect Indian technological talent with global markets, capital, expert guidance, and international networks.

Launched under the IIT Madras Global Research Foundation, the initiative aims to take emerging technologies developed in India from laboratories to global markets.

The center will promote research and innovation while also creating new opportunities for startup incubation, industry-academia collaboration, and venture investments. Indian startups will benefit from international partnerships, funding opportunities, and mentorship support.
