India Launches First Multi-Lane Free Flow Toll System in Gujarat
India is stepping into a new era of seamless highway travel with the launch of its first barrier-free Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system.
The system has been officially implemented at the Choryasi toll plaza on NH-48 in Surat, Gujarat, marking a major milestone in the country’s transport infrastructure.
The initiative aims to eliminate long queues at toll plazas and improve traffic flow by using advanced digital technologies.
The barrier-free MLFF system allows vehicles to pass through toll points without stopping. Unlike traditional toll plazas that use physical barriers, this system uses overhead frames equipped with sensors and cameras to automatically identify vehicles and deduct toll charges in real time.
