Indian Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla to Return to Earth After July 14

Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla is now expected to return to Earth after July 14, according to NASA’s latest update on July 10. Shukla is part of the Axiom-4 mission, which carried four crew members to the International Space Station (ISS).

The Axiom-4 mission was launched on June 25 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Dragon spacecraft docked with the ISS on June 26 after a 28-hour journey.

Although the original mission duration was 14 days, a delay has pushed the return by approximately four days. Shukla and his fellow crew members will now complete an extended stay aboard the space station before re-entering Earth’s atmosphere.

This marks a significant moment in Indian space exploration, as Shukla becomes one of the few Indian astronauts to visit the ISS under a private commercial mission led by Axiom Space in collaboration with NASA.
