Indian Railways Launches ‘RailOne’ App for Unified Passenger Services
To provide digital railway services under one roof, Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the new mobile application ‘RailOne’ on July 1. The launch took place at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, during the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).
The RailOne app is designed as a one-stop solution for all passenger needs. Available on both Android and iOS platforms, it offers access to services such as:
- Unreserved ticket booking
- Platform tickets (with a 3% discount)
- Live train tracking
- Complaint resolution
- e-Catering
- Coolie (porter) booking
- Last-mile taxi services
While reserved ticket bookings will still be handled via the IRCTC platform, the RailOne app is officially authorized by IRCTC and is part of its list of approved partner apps. It also features a single sign-on option using mPIN and biometric login for added convenience.
Passengers who currently use RailConnect or UTS apps can log into RailOne using their existing credentials. This eliminates the need for multiple apps, saving both storage and time for users.
During the launch event, Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw praised the CRIS team and their efforts in strengthening the digital capabilities of Indian Railways. He also announced that the Indian Railways will launch a new modern Passenger Reservation System (PRS) by December 2025. This system will be multilingual, high-speed, and scalable, capable of handling 1.5 lakh ticket bookings and 4 million inquiries per minute.
The upcoming PRS will include advanced features such as seat selection, a fare calendar, and special options for differently-abled individuals, students, and patients.
