India Establishes First Drone Force with 50,000 Personnel
Under Operation Sindur, following global conflicts like Russia-Ukraine and US-Israel-Iran tensions, the Indian defense establishment has decided to create a dedicated Drone Force. This force will be deployed as a first responder in any military operations, supported by technical assistance from data and cognitive warfare units.
The Integrated Defence Headquarters (IDHQ) has announced that 50,000 military personnel are currently being trained for this force. Over the next three years, 15 new Centers of Excellence will be established where personnel will receive real-time battle training through simulators and virtual reality systems.
In the future, security forces like the BSF and ITBP will also be integrated into this network. The force will perform dual roles in intelligence, surveillance, and precision strikes. It will be further protected by the Air Force's Integrated Air Command and the Army’s Akashteer system.
