India's First Flex-Fuel Car Launched
On June 4, Maruti Suzuki unveiled India's first flex-fuel passenger car. The company introduced a flex-fuel version of its popular WagonR hatchback, marking an important step toward sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation.
The newly launched WagonR flex-fuel model is designed to operate on E85 fuel, which contains up to 85% ethanol blended with petrol. This technology allows the vehicle to use higher ethanol blends, reducing dependence on conventional fossil fuels.
To make the car compatible with E85 fuel, Maruti Suzuki has incorporated several engineering modifications in the vehicle's fuel system and engine components. These changes ensure efficient performance and durability while using ethanol-rich fuel.
The launch of the flex-fuel WagonR aligns with India's efforts to promote cleaner energy sources, reduce carbon emissions, and increase the use of biofuels in the transportation sector.
