India's First Rare Earth & Titanium Technology Park Launched in Bhopal
The country's first Rare Earth and Titanium Theme Park has been established in Bhopal. On May 10, Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy, will inaugurate the park. The park has been developed in the Acharpura Industrial Area by Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL) and will operate entirely on the concept of laboratory-scale products.
The objective of this theme park is to directly translate scientific research and innovation into industrial applications. The park has been designed to showcase technologies developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and their industrial applications.
Key Goals and Features
- Promote indigenous production of minerals required for defense, space, electronics, and clean energy (electric vehicles).
- Facilities for production of rare metals like lanthanum, cerium, and neodymium.
- Recycling of rare earth metals from old magnets.
- Reduce India's dependence on China in the rare earth materials sector.
