India’s First Rare Earth and Titanium Theme Park Ready in Bhopal
India’s first Rare Earth and Titanium Theme Park has been developed in Bhopal, located in the Acharpura Industrial Area.
The park will be inaugurated on 10 May by Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy.
About the Project
The theme park has been established by Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL) and is designed to operate on a laboratory-based production concept. Its main goal is to connect scientific research and innovation directly with industrial applications.
The park will showcase technologies developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and their real-world applications.
Key Objectives
- Promote indigenous production of critical minerals for defence, space, electronics, and clean energy sectors.
- Support electric vehicle and renewable energy industries.
- Enable recycling of rare earth materials from old magnets.
- Develop production of minerals like Lanthanum, Cerium, and Neodymium.
Strategic Importance
The project aims to reduce India’s dependency on China for rare earth materials and strengthen the country’s self-reliance in critical mineral resources.
