Iris Scan Mandatory for Entry in MP Police Constable and SI Recruitment Exams
To prevent fraud in the upcoming Police Constable and Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examinations, the Employees Selection Board (ESB) of Madhya Pradesh has implemented a three-tier biometric verification system.
The move comes after a major impersonation scam was uncovered during the 2023 police recruitment exam. This time, from the very beginning, ESB will scan candidates' iris, face, and fingerprints for authentication.
Why the New System?
In 2023, several candidates tampered with their Aadhaar biometric data to allow imposters (solvers) to sit for the exam. After the exam, the real candidates updated their biometric data back to gain admission. Over 20 such cases were detected during physical tests and final joining.
Highlights of the New Security System
- Iris Scan – More accurate and secure than fingerprints.
- Facial Recognition – Real-time match with saved data and solver database.
- Fingerprint Verification – To ensure additional biometric validation.
- CCTV Surveillance – Enhanced monitoring from control room.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) – AI software will track candidate behavior and response patterns during exams.
AI-Powered Fraud Detection
AI will monitor how long candidates take to answer each question. If any unusual or suspicious pattern is detected, the candidate will be flagged for review. This intelligent monitoring system ensures greater transparency and fairness.

Why Iris Scan is Trusted?
Officials say iris scanning is highly accurate and secure compared to fingerprinting. Every individual’s iris pattern is unique and cannot be altered, making it a foolproof biometric identifier.
