Kenyan Woman Breaks Record by Hugging a Tree for 72 Hours

On December 12, Kenyan environmental activist Truphina Mathoni broke her own record by hugging a tree for 72 hours. Her previous record was 48 hours. Reports indicate that Truphina Mathoni chose a local tree in the government compound of Nyeri city for this challenge.

She explained that the black color in her outfit represents African strength, resistance, and resilience, the green color symbolizes forests, new life, and hope, while the red color represents local resistance and courage to face the situation, and the blue color signifies water and marine conservationists.
