Vaibhav Suryavanshi Created a New IPL Record
Rajasthan Royals' 15-year-old batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 93 runs in just 38 balls against Lucknow Super Giants. He became the youngest player to score 500 runs in a single IPL season, breaking the record of Rishabh Pant.
Vaibhav is currently leading the Orange Cap race with 53 sixes and an impressive strike rate of 236.3.
Third India-Nordic Summit Held in Oslo
The third India-Nordic Summit was held in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated along with the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
Earlier summits were held in Stockholm (2018) and Copenhagen (2022). The next summit will be organized in Finland.
Pragati 2026 Military Exercise Started
The multinational military exercise Pragati 2026 began at Umroi Military Station in Meghalaya. Soldiers from 13 countries, including India, are participating in the two-week exercise.
The main focus of the exercise is anti-terrorism operations in mountainous and jungle regions. India’s indigenous defense technology will also be showcased during the exercise.
Annapurna Financial Assistance Scheme
The BJP government in West Bengal launched the Annapurna Financial Assistance Scheme. The scheme will come into effect from 1 June 2026 and will replace the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme.
Under this scheme, eligible women aged between 25 and 60 years will receive ₹3,000 per month.
Women already receiving benefits under the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme will not need to apply again.
