- World Boxing Championship began in Liverpool. For the first time, men’s and women’s matches are being held together. Representing India are Lovlina Borgohain, Nikhat Zareen, and the men’s team.
- In August, India's services sector PMI reached 62.9 — a 15-year high. With growing demand, companies raised prices, inflation increased, and export orders hit their highest level in 14 months.
- India and Japan signed a Joint Credit Mechanism agreement. Under the Paris Agreement, this deal will promote carbon trading and green investments, strengthening India’s clean energy and manufacturing sectors.
- The Indian government approved a ₹1,500 crore incentive scheme under the National Critical Minerals Mission for extracting critical minerals from battery and e-waste. This initiative aims to achieve 270 Kilo Tons recycling capacity and 40 Kilo Tons mineral output by 2030–31.
- The India-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Free Trade Agreement will come into effect from 1 October. This is India’s first trade agreement with legally binding clauses on environment, human rights, and labor standards.
- Sin Goods are products considered harmful to health and society such as tobacco, gutka, pan masala, cigarettes, alcohol, sugary drinks, and gambling. The 56th GST Council recently announced a 40% Sin Tax on these goods, effective from 22 September 2025. Some luxury items are also included in this category. The tax is commonly referred to as "Sin Tax" or "Vice Tax."
