M. Selvendran to be Promoted as Principal Secretary
On December 11, a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, where the promotion of officers to the posts of Principal Secretary, Secretary, and Additional Secretary was discussed. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Deepali Rastogi, Director General of Administrative Academy Sachin Sinha, and other officials.
According to sources, a total of 71 officers will be promoted. However, the promotions of Tarun Bhatnagar, Rishi Garg, and Anurag Chaudhary will be delayed due to ongoing investigations. M. Selvendran, a 2002 batch IAS officer, will be promoted to Principal Secretary. Ashish Singh, Abhijeet Agrawal, and Kaushalendra Singh will be promoted to the position of Secretary.
The promotion of these officers will take effect in January 2026. The meeting also discussed granting proforma promotions to some officers on central deputation. Ajiit Kumar, another officer from the 2002 batch, is on central deputation and will receive a proforma promotion, meaning he will be designated as Principal Secretary upon his return.
